Item Attributes

Item Attributes

When customers inquire about an item, they may ask according to its characteristics, such as brand, color, size, height, publication and model year etc. To provide this customer service, you can assign item attribute values of different types to your items, which can then be used when searching for items.

You can make item attributes as per your business needs.

    1.   To make item attributes go to inventory > setup > item attributes . We have fixed brand as one
attribute. Other than that you can make up to 10 different attributes.

    2.   Click on Edit Attribute row. Use backspace to remove default name and write the desired attribute
           name.

    3.   Select the data type for the attribute you just created.

        •    Multi-select: If you want to give multiple values to your attribute then select this from
              the dropdown.
        •    Text: Choose this option if you want to manually write the value of the attribute every time you
              use it.
        •    Numeric: This option will take only numeric values. You would not be able to write any alphabets
and special characters if you choose numeric as data type for your attribute.
        •    Date: If you have made any attribute whose value would be date. You will choose date as your
data type and you will see calendar while entering the value of the respective attribute.

4     Tick the checkbox under visible column to see the created attribute in product creation and other
            related pages.
5    Tick the check box under mandatory column if you want this field to be mandatory. Uprow will
give you notification every time you leave this column blank.
6    Tick the checkbox under matrix column if you want to assign multiple values to your attribute in
one go while making products. This is useful for creating matrix products (Products with different
variants like brand, color, sizes etc)
